Update

But first, Let me tell you about my winter!!!

It was AMAZING!!! Steamboat is INCREDIBLE! The trails are endless, access to the outdoors is bountiful, the powder is unreal, and the people are top notch! I had to pinch myself several times and repeatedly asked myself- "Is this real life?" It continues to blow my mind that I got to live in a resort town where people pay so much money to vacation! I am one lucky gal! My favorite part of being in Steamboat is that EVERYONE wanted to visit! I went 5 weeks straight with visitors, it was amazing! I hardly had the chance to get homesick, and when I did, a local breakfast place served green chile juevos rancheros :) Not only did I have a ton of visitors, I made incredible friends-it will be so hard to leave!
Early season we had SO MUCH snow! It was so pretty!

Snow shoeing on Rabbit Ears pass, one of my favorite places to play

Blue bird day up on Rabbit Ears
My favorite!
Slack lining on buff pass, my dad is such a good sport :)

Skiing Copper during my dad's visit!

What's next?

If you're a seasoned traveler, you're used to this question. If you've just started traveling, get used to it...you will hear it at least 50 times an assignment!

I hear this a lot, and most of the time the answer is...I don't know! Travel positions aren't usually posted until about 4 weeks prior to the start date. So my usual answer is-read my blog or find me on Facebook and as soon as I know, you'll know :)

The answer- "I don't know" drives some people crazy. It doesn't drive me crazy though! I fly by the seat of my pants and go where the fun jobs take me! It definitely takes a certain type of personality to travel. Sometimes jobs are posted, I accept the job, and I'm packing my car in a whirlwind! I am not an organized person, but with packing my car I am crazy particular. Everything has its spot so I don't forget anything! But in the midst of packing like a tornado, I'll make sure to update either my blog or Facebook-or both!

So, to answer the question...What's next?
I am taking 6 weeks off! I'm doing a National Parks trip with some of my traveler friends. I'm going to a wedding in Austin, to DC to visit friends, and then NYC to run the Brooklyn half with my best friend.
Then I hope to get a travel assignment for the summer, somewhere where the beer flows like wine, and the men instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano. JK-Somewhere in the mountains for the summer, but you never know with traveling-so who knows!
SO the months of June-September are unplanned! Stay tuned!

Here's what I do know AKA the BIG NEWS!!!

I've been accepted for a volunteer physical therapist position aboard the Africa Mercy Ship.  The Mercy ship is a cargo ship turned floating hospital that is docked off the coast of Africa and moves locations every 8 months or so. I will be aboard November 19th-February 10th while the ship is docked off the coast of Douala, Cameroon. Mercy ships performs much needed operations and provides medical care to those in need and who are unable to afford the surgery or don't have access to medical care. I will likely be working with kiddos that have had corrective orthopedic surgeries. You should read some of the stories on their website, it's an amazing organization and I am SO excited!
It is a volunteer position so I will basically be taking 5 months off of work, this summer I will save up in order to take the time off and I will return to work March 2018. I'm taking the October prior to the trip off of work to travel/visit friends and family before I leave!

When are you going to settle down?

I hear this question all the time too, and it's still the same answer..I DON'T KNOW! :)
I might be ready when I get back from Africa, but it's not likely! We'll see!!

Where will you settle down?

Please refer to the above answer :) I think if I knew where I wanted to live then I would know when I might settle down! It's hard to think about settling down when I don't know where I want to live!!
Somewhere with mountains, a ski hill, cool people, not a big city, but easy access to an airport. IF you know where this place is please let me know, I'm looking!!!

I hope you all are well! When I figure out where I'll be living for the summer, please come visit!!
