Introduction to Sierra's life circa 2015

I have been a traveling physical therapist for two and a half years now, holy cow, how did that happen!? At least once an assignment someone asks "Do you have a blog?" When I answer "No, I hate writing" the person asking inevitably says "You should write a blog." And I always say "Have you heard me talk? Boring!!" Anyway- at this point in my travels I feel behind... I feel like I should have been documenting my fantastic experiences, not so much for readers but almost as a journal and way to reminisce on this amazing life.  Well better late than never right?
I love being in Albuquerque because it means that I get to see my BFF's!

I have succumbed to peer pressure and started a blog and in the long run I think it is a great idea! I no longer have to repeat myself i.e. "I'm a traveling PT" "yeah I like it" "no I don't mind moving every 13 weeks" "yes, I meet people" "yes, my car has an unusually high amount of miles on it" etc.

Physical therapists have to have a license for each state they work in. So that means I have to apply for, pay for, and obtain a license in each state I want to work in. So far I have licenses in NM, TX, TX, ID, CA, AK, and HI... and I promised my BFF I'd work on getting my NY license.
Lauren came to visit while in Albuquerque and we ran on the Bosque trail- no matter how far we are away from NM, it will always be our home. :)
Other than the "do you have a blog?" question the other question I ALWAYS get asked is "how long will you travel?" Initially I wanted to travel to see my family in Houston(where I stayed for 6 months and worked with some of THE most amazing people in the history of healthcare). Once my crap was in storage I didn't see the point in unpacking and going back to a permanent job. I had done the hard work of packing why not enjoy it!? So I decided to travel until I paid off my student loans, well that's almost accomplished, wooooo!!! The closer I get to paying off my loans the more I realize that I am unsure that I'll ever want to work in a permanent position again! (with a boss and pesky requirements like; asking for time off)  I honestly feel so blessed;I have seen some of the most beautiful places in the US, I have met incredible people, been a part of amazing churches, worked at cutting edge hospitals that blow my brain everyday I go to work, I love my job, I work for 13 weeks, and I take ~4 weeks off after every assignment and go on vacay. What more could a girl ask for!? I thought traveling would calm my wanderlust and help me decide where to settle down but it has made it so much harder because I've seen the beauty of the USA and have met amazing people everywhere I have gone!

I plan on documenting my experience from now on. So stay tuned for more awful writing and copious amounts of pictures of scenery and selfies!
I bought a new car for my travels! Its perfect for hauling skis, bikes, and the rest of my life! I love it!

As I write this I am in my last week in Albuquerque, NM... I hope to spend the summer in Alaska.  I will definitely need visitors and most likely a road tripper/co-pilot for the long haul so break in your hiking boots, shake out your sleeping bag, and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime!

I did a phone interview today, and the woman interviewing me asked if I could use three words to describe myself what would they be? Then she asked how my friends would describe me- and the first word that popped into my head was gypsy-I've been called this many times and I have come to accept that I am a gypsy: One who follows an itinerant or otherwise unconventional career or way of life.
